child and youth ministries

At St. Mark's, we value the importance of honoring our heritage and passing on our faith and traditions to younger members and future generations. Christian education is a very important and integral part of life at St. Mark's - our goal is to provide programs for all members to study and learn together: to deepen our faith and grow in the love of Christ.

Our Sunday School is growing. This year we will have two Christian education classes.

Primary : "Learning and Growing in the Bible" This program is designed to introduce younger learners to Bible stories.

Intermediate : "Season of the Spirit / Encore" This multi-age lectionary curriculum will follow each Sunday's worship readings.

We will join our families at The Peace so that we may participate in worship and Communion as a community.

Children may be enrolled by calling the church office at 662-4418.

Women's Book Group

Wednesdays at 11 a.m. in the Martz Room

The book club has been meeting for about 6 years. We started by reading religious books, such as "The Hiding Place" by Corrie Ten boom; "Bad Girls of the Bible" by Liz Curtis Higgs; "Jesus the Human Face of God" by Jay Parini etc. and we added some 'best seller' novels such as "The Nightingale" and "All the Light We Cannot See".  Sometimes we watch a movie based on the book we are reading. We have some really lively discussions and good fellowship during our time together. Won't you join us?

women's retreat

Friday evening through Saturday afternoon in January or February

The women of St. Mark's gather each year for a time of fellowship and study. The retreat is held at Christ the King Seminary in East Aurora.

Saturdays at 9 a.m. downstairs in the kitchen

This group gathers for approx 90 minutes.  It features bagels and coffee, reading from the upcoming Sunday’s lessons, a meditation from Fr. Harry Grace’s “Getting Ready for Sunday”, a lively discussion and questions which leads to “googling” and reading the footnotes in our bibles.  Everyone is welcome.  Please join us.
