From the Pastor
A Season of the Spirit!
"I have said these things to you while I am still with you. But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything, and remind you of all that I have said to you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid." The Pentecost Gospel Reading
I want that kind of peace! That bedrock foundation of unshakable confidence that knows to the core of my being that God’s got my back.
Most days I do know that peace and sometimes I forget that God's got me. Everything in the world is created and will crumble away, but not God.
The world cannot give what it never had, unconditional love and life everlasting.
I find that when I don’t have that peace it’s because I get in the way of knowing it (fears , worries and the lie that I really have this all together…)The Holy Spirit reminds me very quietly of the Almighty’s presence and I come back down to earth feeling that peace that passes understanding.
It’s a mystery that we cannot completely wrap our heads around. It is a mystery that we feel in our hearts, a presence that calms our fears. Be filled with the Spirit this Pentecost season and feel that peace which the world cannot give.
